My name Jada Young and I am a Libero/DS graduating class of 2022. I have a 4.24 GPA and have taken accelerated AP/IB courses since my freshman year.
I have been playing volleyball since I was 6 years old and elite club volleyball starting at the age of 11. Throughout my elite club seasons, I have played up at higher age levels multiple times. I am the Captain of my Varsity team and as a sophomore, I was the starting Libero and awarded High School Conference Honorable Mention. I was also the starting Libero in my club season with Mizuno M1 (Minnesota One) for both my 15-1 and 16’s season.
Along with my physical skillsets, I also focus on maintaining mental balance on and off the court. I compete with passion and really enjoy building fun relationships with my teammates. My favorite part of the game is reading the opponents, whether it’s shutting down their offense or calling out spots for scoring points.
Another thing about me is that I have a stutter. I do not stutter while I am in the gym or performing on the court. I am constantly talking during the game, directing the backrow, telling the hitters what is open and cheering my team on. My stutter does not define me, reflect how I play or my relationships.
My goals as a volleyball player is to compete at the highest level of competition and continue to meet the challenge head on and exceed all expectations.
