When I was in grade school I became interested in gymnastics and worked very hard training and competing. I maintained a vigorous practice and workout schedule in order to stay in shape and be at my peak performance for the sport. Then in school and with friends I began to play volleyball, and realized I was more interested in becoming a part of a volleyball team. One of the main things that drew me to volleyball is that it is a team sport. Much unlike gymnastics where I needed to compete on my own, volleyball is played as a team and each player must be willing to work their hardest in order for the team to be good. I love being able to help my team mates do their best and helping to cheer them on while they also are there to do the same for me.
Something that I am very good at is that I am a self starter. I push myself to do my best not only at sports but in school. Being involved in sports and having practice and workouts almost daily I have had to learn to budget my time and be able to juggle school and sports. I also juggle my personal time as due to the divorce of my parents I split my time between two families also. But luckily I have a family that is very supportive of everything I do, and is willing to go above and beyond to make sure I can accomplish all my goals and dreams.
At this point in my life I have not made a determination as to what I am wanting to pursue in college. I do know that I want a career that in some way helps people or animals. I am looking into my options for Nursing, Physical Therapy or possibly a veterinarian. I want to help people make their lives better, even if in just some small way. I am most happy when I can make others feel better about themselves and their lives.
