Personal Statement
It is my plan to attend a four year college after I graduate from high school in 2019. My scholastic interests mostly revolve around AP history and English. Currently I am enrolled in Spanish 4 with plans to continue honors Spanish my senior year and a Spanish minor in college. In my academic free time, I participate in various drug awareness programs; High School Heros, TryPOD and Peer Teaching with middle school students. I also have been a member of student council and honor roll for the past three years.
I currently attend a Christian church close to my home. My family joined this congregation in 2002 and remain active in the Sunday school programs and various church activities. I enjoy spending free time with my sister and church friends attending our Friday night teen bible studies. This year I signed up to work as a Peer Mentor at the Gateway Region tournaments helping younger kids to learn the game of volleyball.
After playing other sports, mainly soccer and basketball, I found that I truly enjoyed volleyball the most. I love playing for my high school program and for the coaches as well. I have played one year on JV and two on varsity so far and have made many good friends and memories. Out of school I am a member of Show Me Volleyball Academy. While this is my second year playing for them, I have moved to the first team this year. The year has met me with many more challenges, but overall, with the strict discipline of my coach and the commitment of the players, it has so far proved to be a good change and most beneficial for my volleyball pathway.
