My name is Taylor Beaven, and I started playing volleyball in kindergarten for St. Louis Tiny Tots where I went on to play another year. At seven years old I was noticed for my overhand serve and asked to come to the Team Elite Saint Louis VBC tryouts, where I made the top 10u team that played up in 11u tournaments. I continued to play up at Team Elite Saint Louis for four more years until I switched to play at my own age level on Rockwood Thunder 12 Mizuno. I have been at Rockwood ever since. I have been a starting all-around player ever I was five until last season I switched to libero due to my height and wanting to play at the highest level. All of the college contacts I was receiving wanted me as a DS/L and therefore my decision to change positions was easy.
Switching to Rockwood has been the best volleyball decision I've made. This season will be my sixth season at Rockwood. I have played for their top team every year. My Rockwood Volleyball team has always been number one in our region, and in 2017 we placed 3rd at the GJNC Open Division.
My dream is to play D1 volleyball at a high level. My work ethic is something I take very seriously and I love to be challenged. My assertiveness and positivity on the court is something I also take very seriously. I have been a varsity head captain of my high school since I was a freshman. Keeping a positive and encouraging attitude while also being assertive towards my teammates is very important to me. An award that I have received every year, along with others, is the All-Conference Team and Sportsman Ship award!
