Personal Statement
Volleyball is more than just a game to me, it is part of who I am. I was first introduced to volleyball when I was about 2 years old and have had a ball in my hands since then. I started playing competitive volleyball when I was in the third grade. I love the game. I have played every position on the court. I currently am an outside hitter and rotate all positions, specializing in the left back position. I have been called the "go to player" on more than one occasion. I am not afraid of the moment and can take the big swing; but also adjust and make smart decisions. I realize with my height that an outside hitter position is not likely; therefore, I have trained and put more focus on my defensive game and improving my serve. I am leading our team with 96.8% serving percentage. I serve first for our team, handling the pressure of each new match. Currently I have served 421 serves with 14 errors and 65 aces. I am also leading our team with digs. I am fast, can cover all over the court, and have great reaction time. I believe that you play how you practice. It is not uncommon for me to have a few bruises at the end of practice or a game. I love chasing down balls and diving for that amazing "pancake-save". It gives me an adrenaline rush like no other. I am a great communicator, as well as a play maker that can take a team to the next level. I love volleyball and would love to play at a higher level. I am willing to be a setter, a defensive specialist, a libero or wherever I am needed.
