The influence of good teachers and coaches have helped me develop a positive attitude in the classroom and on the court. Playing select softball has influenced my competitiveness at an early age. My two older brothers have taught me that I can compete with those bigger and older than me! I've had to wait longer then most girls my age to play club volleyball because, I have two older brothers that played travel sport. Due to time and money obstacles, I had to wait until my parents were in a better position to help me reach my goals. Through this I've had learned patience and to take advantage of every opportunity I get. Another obstical I have had to overcome is my height. I've accepted the fact that I'm shorter than most, but I make up for it with attitude and effort.
Volleyball became one of my favorite sports at about age seven while playing through the YMCA. The fact that I can practice and play volleyball all year round has helped make my passion for it even stronger. It takes a variety of skills to play volleyball. Focusing on technique and little details of the game have become very important to me. Along with that, I have learned to push myself beyond my comfort zone. I am not afraid to try new things. Adapting and learning to new things quickly is a strong characteristic of mine. I always try to put the needs of my team before my own personal wishes. Academically, I always try to get the best grade I'm capable of. Lastly, I truly enjoy life and bring a smile along with a fun attitude to everything I do!!
