Personal Statement
Growing up in Nebraska, I developed a passion for volleyball going to the University of Nebraska's volleyball games and local high school volleyball games at a very early age. My love of the sport grew when I started playing club when I was nine years old. Over the last six years, I have dedicated myself to developing myself as a volleyball player. In fact, over the last six years, my family has supported my commitment by driving me an hour and half each way sometimes three or four times per week to Lincoln so I could play for the highest level club teams in our area.
As a result of this dedication, I was able to compete on the highest teams at my club for the last 6 years. Furthermore, I was able to start as the sole setter for my high school coach, Sharon Zavala, who currently has over 1000 wins when I was a freshman. Last year, I started as the sole setter for Grand Island Central Catholic which finished 24-4. We lost in our district final match to go to State.
Fortunately, I am blessed to be able to set many wonderful hitters on our team. Over the next three years of my high school career, I can only hope that as a team we are able to reach our goal of winning a state championship.
