Personal Statement
I’m Jaedyn Simba-Malasarte, and ever since I was 10 I knew that I wanted to play volleyball at a college level. I was inspired to play at the college level ever since I watched the USA team at the 2016 Rio Olympics. From that moment I aspired to not just be a good player, but a great player. Someone who works well together not just as a team, but as a family. Someone who brings the best out of everyone when playing.
I’ve been playing club for eight years, seven of them being travel teams. I am very versatile when it comes to playing positions, but I specialize in defense. I’ve been to USAV High Performance twice, once as an outside and once as a Libero. I got into the A-3 program this year, but it was sadly canceled due to Covid. During our 2021-2022 club season I earned two bids to the Girls Junior National Championship, one in the 17 American Division and one in the 17 USA Division.
With my positive attitude on court, I would also like to expand it off the court and into my studies. At school I maintain good grades to major in elementary education or business, to help teach others not only in education but in life. Volleyball has shown me how to not only be a better person but how to help and grow with others.
