Personal Statement
Hi,
My name is Elizabeth Omahen, and I am an Outside/ Opposite hitter attending Portsmouth High School in Portsmouth New Hampshire graduating in 2020.
I played three years as a Varsity starter for my High School Team, during my Freshman through Junior year in addition to that, I have had a total of seven years of club experience. This will be my eighth year on the 17 Open team for Lat42. Last Summer I attended The USA HP Championship with the NERVA team in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I also joined multiple clinics around New Hampshire as well.
Not only do I strive to work my hardest on the court, I am also very focused on my education and always try to create a balance between my athletics, and school work. I am working as a Peer Tutor for Special Education Students at my High school. I have an interest in pursuing a degree in Special Education. My goal is to work with children with disabilities; to help them feel confident in what they can do, and learn how to overcome everyday obsticals.
I think I would be a great asset for a collegiate team due to the work, and thought I put into everything I do. Because of that I have become a well-rounded player, and understanding teammate over the years. I always walk onto the court ready to play at my highest level, and challenge myself to go above and beyond for the team. I am looking forward to improve my skills everyday by working exceptionally hard, and creating a path for myself to one day play at the collegiate level! I am constantly learning and improving as a student athlete, and plan to keep doing so. I am looking forward to the next steps to a successful future during my college years!
