My name is Riley O'Hagan, I am a setter from New Jersey, and I graduate in 2021. As I kid I played many sports, but then in middle school, I fell in love with the game of volleyball and have been playing ever since. My Dad will claim that he was the reason I started playing, but it was my friends that got me into the sport. Playing with my friends and making new ones was such a pleasant experience and the comradery that volleyball brings is unmatchable. Volleyball has broken me out of my shell and allowed me to meet many people that are influential in my life today.
From the moment I started playing volleyball, I was a setter. I enjoy setting so much because it allows me to be the brains on the court and control the speed of the game. In high school, I made the varsity team as a freshman and that year I was playing up on a 16's team. It was scary, but I knew playing with older and more experienced girls would push me to be a better player. As a freshman, I was an All-Conference Honorable Mention, and as a sophomore, I was 2nd Team All-Conference, as well as All-Academic Team. Junior Year I was a captain, 1st Team All-Conference, and All-Academic.
Academics are a big part of my life. I have always been a good student and want to be the best I can. I wish to challenge myself and learn new things every day. My competitiveness and hardworking attitude allow me to succeed in school and on the court. Volleyball and learning are my two passions, and I want to pursue them to their fullest extent.
