Personal Statement
I had always been interested in sports and athletics. I started out playing basketball in the 4th grade then one day after school I saw the older girls playing in the gym. Granted it was a volleyball club practice which I didn't know at the time would be me soon. I instantly fell in love with the sport having watched it one time in the gym at school. I started playing volleyball soon after and I just knew I wanted to grow from there. My goals are big. Through team training and summer volleyball camps and practicing at home, I helped achieve a second-place medal in my high school volleyball tournament and helped my club and high school volleyball team reach far into a championship bracket. During my club season, I went to play overseas in Puerto Rico and ended up helping win a second-place gold medal with my team. Basically I play volleyball year-round to be the best player I can be!
I believe I am a strong student-athlete, with maintaining an (A to a B plus average) and having accepted silver honor roll throughout the school. I have a 3.0 GPA and taking the course Spanish 6 honors and I am a member of Bella Voce honors choir which gives me the opportunity to work in harmony with others to create beautiful music together as one voice. I would like to major as an Aquatic Veterinarian in college.
Being one of two siblings to play sports, I’ve always been a team player. With having to coordinate school, sports, and extracurricular activities, sharing household chores and the attention of our parents, all comes with the territory. It has also given me a strong sense of who I am, where I come from, and the type of person I’d like to be. We believe in family. We believe in unity. We believe in hard work. We are spiritual. Whatever team I am lucky enough to play in college I will devote myself to my team and continue to strive to be the best student-athlete I can be and always continue to better my game.
Thank You
