Personal Statement
A college athlete should be full of determination and growth when it comes to athletics, education, and real-life situations. Representing a college/university would be such an honor and achievement for years to come. Ever since picking up a volleyball in 7th grade, I knew it was the sport for me. Even before that, I specifically remember camp I did in 4th grade and the high school coach who ran it told me I had so much potential due to the power/form I had from playing tennis. From being one of the best ranging from basketball to tennis, volleyball clicked to me like no other. Learning how to participate in a college level athletic program as well as balancing education can be challenging, however, taking on that responsibility is definitely something that I would love to experience. Constantly thinking about volleyball is a sign that I cannot end my career next year, I need to keep improving and working on my skills to be the best… not stopping half way.
From word-to-mouth, I have such a high energy when it comes to sports and competitions. I absolutely love hyping up my team as well as myself when it comes to winning a game. Energy and mentality is the biggest component of volleyball and I know that it is a skill of mine that I will maintain. Going out of my comfort zone is something I love to do because I love challenging myself for the better. One of the most exciting things I look forward to when it comes to college volleyball is the fact that the training is much more advanced. This will make me become a better player and athlete. I also have an outgoing personality that will cheer up the team if we have one of those days where things aren't going the best. I always try and look for the positive in things because that is what is most important in life. Overall, I can be a great asset to the team because of my well-rounded personality that will always try and keep the team in a positive mindset.
When it comes to opportunity, my main goal is to make the best out of college volleyball that I can. Representing a school is huge in the first place, however, it is more for the relationships that I will build forever and effort that I put into it. I want to play as much as I can whether it is Division I, II, or III. Currently, I am experimenting with locations all across the country, however, I am more drawn to where the warmer weather is (west or south). Warm weather helps me mentally because I get inspired easily by the sun and comfort of the heat. In general, I want a school that is mainly/somewhat challenging academically and that I connect with right away while playing the sport that I truly and forever will love.
