Personal Statement
I envision my college years to be a personal growth period. My goal is to play DIII college volleyball while earning my college degree in the medical field. Education is essential to my future success; therefore, I selected a few majors I am interested that fall within similar sections such as Athletic Training, Exercise Science and Physical Therapy with Athletic Training being my #1 choice.
My love for volleyball started nine years ago in 2012. My mother truly believes and has instilled in me that playing volleyball is more than great athleticism and skill but more about life and being part of a team, accountability, dedication, hard work, reponsibility and determination. The lessons I learned throughout the years assisted in coaches appointing me as the team captain various times. As a captain, I developed from not only being a leader but being a situational and diplomatic leader. This has provided an invaluable experience in my life such as associating and integrating with other people despite their differences in opinions or backgrounds. I now possess an attitude of cohesion derived from this experience, which is required in any setting that is success motivated.
My love for volleyball is undeniable and I plan to be a dynamic player and positive influence on the team. As I continue to grow both physically and mentally throughout my college volleyball career, I will strive to be a defense asset whether it be as a Libero or as a Defensive Specialist. Most importantly, I will conduct myself with honor and respect on and off the field, knowing that the way I carry myself reflects my team, my coaches and the school I attend.
