Personal Statement
A true passion for volleyball has driven my commitment to the sport since I’ve started playing. I began the sport in 5th grade though a clinic and have put my best effort forth in it ever since. When I finally joined a true team at the beginning of 8th grade I realized volleyball was something I wanted to be a part of my life until I couldn’t play anymore. I put in my 110% at every practice and was dedicated to being not only a clutch member of my team but also a teammate that knew the beauty in the dynamic of working well on a team as a whole. Having a strong bond with my teammates on this club team who wanted to work just as hard as I did set this competition apart from high school volleyball. The grit and true hunger to win that the girls and I on my club team have is part of the reason why I want to play in college. There is nothing more exciting than competition and even more so with the help of teammates who you have a great bond with. My passion and dedication to the sport is why I believe I think I would be a great college player. I not only work hard on the court for my own personal benefit but I am a team player who loves working with my teammates together as a team. I’m the same way with my academics, as I know the importance of being a good student and love to challenge myself in the classroom. Just simply having the opportunity of being a part of a collegiate volleyball team is an aspiration of mine but being a player that my teammates can rely on at the most important moments to be a championship winning team also is a part of my collegiate goals. I think what sets myself apart from others is the fact that I do not stop working my hardest no matter how successful I am and I’m able to pick my teammates up when it seems like there’s no hope left. I believe there’s always room for a comeback and you’re never too far away from a win.
