Personal Statement
There are countless reasons why I would embrace the opportunity to play the sport I love at a college level. Throughout my years of playing volleyball, my love for the sport has only grown, as I have become more passionate and dedicated than I have ever thought possible. I work extremely hard every day not only to better my volleyball skills, but also to become the best version of myself as a student, teammate, player, and friend. Being able to play volleyball and train as a member of a college team has been a major dream of mine for many years, and it would mean everything if I were given that opportunity.
I would be an asset to your volleyball team not only because of my caring and leadership qualities, but also because of my academic excellence and passion for volleyball. My academic dedication can be observed with my hardworking accomplishments over the years, such as challenging myself with all honors classes as well as AP classes, receiving "Principal's List" every quarter for both my freshman and sophomore year, winning 2nd place in Cornell University's engineering contest for two years, and being accepted into the Georgetown University Medical Camp. My coaches would describe me as a highly coachable player, as I am able to handle criticism and use it to better my playing performance. My teammates would describe me not only as a leader who can bring everyone together to set the mentality required to win as a united team, but also as a team player who is encouraging and has good sportsmanship.
Concerning my goals as a college athlete, I am open to location and would value an opportunity to play at a D1, D2, or D3 level. My goal is to attend a school that is academically selective in which I would have to work hard in order to be accepted. There are many small schools I love, as well as extremely large schools I love. Although size doesn't necessarily matter to me, I would prefer a larger school with a campus. For my desired field of study, I am still undecided, but I am truly interested in biomedical engineering, business, and criminology. I hope this statement has provided you a clear understanding of the person I am, as well as my pure love and dedication for academics and volleyball.
