Personal Statement
As a child I was taught a good work ethic and that with enough persistence and determination I could accomplish anything I wanted. When I was diagnosed with Mononucleosis in my sophomore year, and missed over a month of school I realized these were not the only characteristics that I would need for success. Having to come back from Mono took more mental and physical strength than I have ever needed before. I felt like to get back to where I was physically and academically strong again was impossible. While overcoming this challenge I had to be patient and keep a positive attitude; I learned mental strength. Now, I am able to bring these skills to my team through leadership. I encourage everyone to stay positive, take one volley at a time and let go and learn from the mistakes. I feel that with my dedication, willingness to learn, determination, and mental strength I will be a successful student athlete.
