* During my 11 years as a Girl Scout, I have learned the importance of perseverance through the completion of my Bronze and Silver Awards. I am currently working to complete my Gold Award, the highest honor a Girl Scout can achieve.
* When I was in 5th grade my friends mother, who played volleyball in college, asked me to play for her CYO team. I have been in love with the game ever since .
* Throughout my years of playing volleyball, I’ve learned that body language is extremely important . I realized early on that my body language was often negative when I would lose a point. This did not only affect my playing, it affected my teammates’ playing as well. Over the years, I have converted my disappointment into encouragement for myself and my teammates.
* Since the day that I started playing volleyball I knew that it was my favorite sport. In order to grow, I started playing club volleyball. However, when I first tried out for club volleyball in 7th grade I didn't make a team. I was on the waiting list for a team. Getting the news that I did not make a team broke my heart. When we received the email that I had been accepted onto a team, I was ecstatic. Once I started that club season, I practiced my hardest until I became the player that never came off the court in tournaments and scrimmages. All my hard work and determination paid off. This taught me to approach everything in my life with an open mind.
* I'm hoping to find the school that's the right fit for me academically and will also allow me to play volleyball at the college level.
