My goal is to play volleyball in college. I would like to be on a Division II or III team so that I can have a good balance of sports and academics. I want to excel in both academics and volleyball. I would like to go to a four year school that is small to medium in size. I have had success as a setter and utility player, but my passion is outside hitting which is the position I currently play on my travel team. I am a good candidate for a college team because not only am I a strong player, I have strong leadership qualities and I always push myself and my teammates to our full potential. I welcome constructive criticism and am not offended by it; I follow up on my coach's advice. Also, since I have experience as Captain, helping my teammates by giving constructive criticism comes easily to me. I am different than other recruits because I am interested in other activities besides sports. For example, I'm self-taught in ukulele and piano, and I come from a performing arts high school where I major in Musical Theater. I would like to attend a college that offers performing arts majors especially drama or musical theater. I also have a somewhat unique experience with college sports since my uncle is a Division I coach (Bucknell water polo). I have learned a great deal from him about what it takes to be on a college team, academic expectations, and in general, life lessons that have helped me on this journey.
