Hi my name is Lorenza Calcagno and I am a junior at Our Lady of Mercy High School. I have played volleyball since eighth grade and I have loved every second of it. This was my first year on Varsity and that makes me work even harder. This year I had to prove to my coach in tryouts that I had a spot on the team and even though he told me there will be a low percent playing time, I worked hard to get put on the team. I am an outside hitter yet not afraid to switch around positions. I played club this past year for Hotshots and I continue to do private training with my coach for club. I plan on playing beach this summer as well as doing skills camps. I never miss a chance to improve my skills. I am interested in becoming a collegiate athlete because I can't see myself not playing volleyball. Previously I have played basketball as well as competitively dancing. I stopped dancing to focus on sports and my academics. Currently I have a 4.02 out of a 4.5 and I am in multiple extracurriculars not including sports.
