As a member of the NYC Juniors travel team and my second year on my high school team, I believe I am a good candidate because I work hard on the court and in the classroom. I challenge and push myself to always do better and stay focused. I am different from other recruits because unlike others, I have patience and I get along with others easily. In addition to that, I bring others up when they feel like they could’ve played better. I always try to put a smile on people’s faces because when you have a better attitude towards negative things, the situation becomes positive a lot quicker. No matter what, I always strive for excellence and perfection on the court and the classroom. When I feel I could’ve played better, I create a mental checklist reminding myself that getting frustrated is not going to make it better, if anything it will just make it more stressful for me and my teammates. Academically, I have tried my hardest and continue to try my hardest, in school showing major improvement in my grades compared from last year as opposed to this year. My major goal is to lead my high school team to the championships next season and become an asset to my new travel team. I aspire to play college volleyball and can’t wait to see what the future holds for my athletic career.
