Jayla Bolden '21 Recruiting Profile

Thank you for taking the time to view my profile.  My goal is to play competitive volleyball on a college level.  My desired major is to enter a pre-med program with emphasis on neuro; therefore, I am seeking a university that will benefit  me as a player and as a student.  I am one who strives to build strong relationships on the court and in the classroom.  I am self-motivated and always lead by example.  I devote a minimum of 8+ hours weekly toward training to increase my skills, as well as, coaching and developing the younger aged players.

On the court, my specialty is as an outside hitter and defense specialist; however, I am entering my second year as an all-around player for school and club alike.  I am the team captain for my club team where my focus is leadership, comradery and passion for the game.  As a player, I am always looking for better ways to hone in on my skills by doing extra workouts, turning every moment into a teachable moment and participating in private lessons.

Although, I’ve played softball in the past, my mom always told me that she knew exactly what my athletic passion would be when she took me to my first volleyball game when I was in the 7^th grade.  She jokes and says that my head was moving right to left with such intensity for a game that I’d never seen before.  From then on, I have developed a strong passion for the game. 

I am looking forward to putting in the extra sweat and hard-work necessary to continue being that stand-out player matched with the perfect college team.
