Personal Statement
My name is Carlyn Tanis. I am a left-handed, six rotation, 5'8" player for the class of 2024. I have played volleyball since I was 7 years old and began playing club volleyball at age 9. I am a well-rounded, versatile player and am passionate about the game. I am a strong hitter, have quick feet and have excellent passing and digging skills. I am hard working and coachable and always strive to improve my game.
I play for Albemarle Regional Volleyball Club as well as Camden County High School. I have been named captain of my club team team. I have had the unique experience of playing for the state title in the NC 2A State Volleyball Championship match two years in a row. I was selected for the HSOT All-State Volleyball team and named to the NCVBCA All-State, All-Region and All-Conference teams.
I am a multi-sport athlete and have played travel softball since I was 8 years old. I had the pleasure of winning the NC 1A State Championship in 2021. I was selected to the HSOT All-State Softball Team and was a First Team All Conference selection in 2021 and 2022. I am also involved in several club activities including National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, and FCA. I am searching for a blend of competitive volleyball and academic excellence. I am an Honors student in my Junior year of high school with a 4.3 GPA. I would love to play at the college level while pursuing a degree in a Health Sciences field, such as Physical Therapy or Sports Medicine.
