Taryn Kohlphenson '23 Recruiting Profile

Hi there, I started playing volleyball in the 7th grade and have played travel volleyball since freshman year. I started playing beach volleyball my sophomore year. Ever since stepping on the court and finding out I made the team in 7th grade, I have had a love for volleyball that I don't think even the best volleyball players have. My main position is setter, but I have been trained in all positions. In the beginning I played middle for a long time, then I played all-around outside a lot then was moved to setter. As you could probably tell, setter stuck with me. Yes, I love to win, but even if my team isn't doing the best, I still try to keep a positive attitude because attitude and energy can truly make or break a team. I put in all my dedication to this sport. I workout everyday, I practice all the time, I watch film, and I also coach. I made a promise to myself that I won't let myself, my team, or anyone else down.
