Personal Statement
My collegiate goals are to get my doctorate in Neurobiology. From there I would like to gain experience working in the field for several years before pursuing my ultimate goal of becoming a college professor. I also aspire to coach volleyball during the years following college.
The things that make me a good candidate for college volleyball teams are: I am...
- self-driven and highly motivated
- very coachable
- committed to the sport and to my team
- a team player who understands and supports the needs of the team in order to achieve the best results
- a strategic and thoughtful player on the court at all times
- inspired and motivated by the team's growth and success as the season progresses
- a focused and positive player and teammate
- excited about learning new skills and mastering them
- not willing to give up
I stand out from other recruits because an internal drive to succeed in everything I do, on and off the court. I believe actions speak louder than words - and that is how I live my life. I often don't say aloud what my goals are - - - I simply go get them and make them happen. I believe everyone has the potential for greatness when they apply themselves. Helping others succeed gives me great satisfaction - and I don't look for personal glory in their success. Learning, whether academically, personally or athletically, is a high priority for me and always has been.
I've been looking forward to college since 3rd grade and the excitement is only growing more strongly each and every day.
