Volleyball found me when my parents told me I needed to play a sport for tall people. At thirteen years old, I was already taller than my seventeen year old sister and twenty year old brother. It was love at first set. As a very visual person, I thrive on being able to see the whole game not just follow the ball. Playing volleyball has taught me so much that carries off the court. Volleyball has helped me learn how to stay disciplined and organized at home and school. One way I have become organized, is in chores at our homestead where I have raised fourteen chickens and four ducks. These animals have allowed me to help in my community by donating the dozen eggs they lay daily. Having these awesome animals has helped me realize that I would like to study Biology focusing on animal studies. All of this shows my ability to focus, learn new techniques, stay disciplined, multi-task, and have fun. These, and my other many qualities, would be an asset to any volleyball program.
