Personal Statement
My life has been influenced by many people and events. Family is and always will be my foundation in life. Expectations have always been high in my family but, the path to meeting those expectations has been covered with true support. Whenever a goal was out of my reach, I have found that hard work and faith in God always makes a way. I am grateful for my family as they have helped me find a since of confidence that allows me to reach for all I can possibly be in life.
Sports have been a part of my life since the age of 5. As a Sophomore in high school, I played volleyball, basketball and soccer. I received my varsity letter in both volleyball and basketball that year. My older sister influenced me to start playing volleyball in middle school. I instantly fell in love with the game. I am team player and I like for my team to be as driven as I am to succeed. I would be a great addition to a collegiate team because of my willingness to play several positions. I am a flexible team leader and can take direction from a coaching staff. From playing volleyball, I have learned how to be a cohesive player.
From an early age, my parents and coaches have instilled in me that character matters on and off the court. I believe it is important to have discipline on and off the court as well.
Academically, I try to challenge myself by taking honors classes and pushing myself to maintain a GPA worthy of National Honor Society. In college, I plan to continue and maintain this GPA standard to further my education and obtain a degree in Biology and acceptance into medical school to become a Pediatric Surgeon.
