Personal Statement
The highlight of my freshman year in high school was making the varsity team! I earned my varsity letter as a freshman playing outside hitter. My sophomore year, I had a successful season and received All League Honorable Mention. I was one of the leading players in stats each match and was the top server on my team. Even though our team didn’t make it very far in tournament play, I learned to be a positive teammate, persevere through adversity, and become stronger mentally dealing with tough losses. I feel these skills I have learned throughout high school have helped me prepare to play at the next level. Through my club seasons, I have learned that playing at a higher level requires preparation, mental attitude, and tenacity to maintain playing competitively for long periods of time or many days in longer tournaments.
I am looking for program that has strong academics and is a good fit for me athletically. I have had goals for myself academically since my childhood. I would like to pursue an education in the medical field. I have always dreamed of helping others and have reached out in my community making small gift bags for Cancer patients at a local hospital. I recently received an honors award at my school for maintaining a 3.5 GPA or higher. I have a working knowledge of what it takes to be successful in the classroom, as well as a student athlete. It takes a strong work ethic, discipline, and positive character to be successful, and I feel I posses those characteristics. I would be an asset to your school academically, as well as athletically!
