Personal Statement
After my sophomore year in volleyball at Dublin Scioto High School in Dublin, Ohio, I was honored to receive 1st Team All Conference and Honorable Mention All Region awards. With my other high school sports I also earned post season honors including basketball Special Mention All League and Honorable Mention All District) and Lacrosse (1st Team All Conference and Honorable Mention All Region).
During club volleyball season I played in an OH2 position to work on both my defense and offense in a 6 position rotation. I am working with my high school coach to have some opportunity to play in this role in the next two seasons to work on these skills rather than playing middle full time which was needed during my freshman and sophomore years. My high school coach recommended I attend a Leadership Training Program which has helped me on all of my high school and club teams. I look forward to being able to utilizing these skills in my last two years of high school, through college and when I eventually start my career.
As an Honor Roll Student Athlete classroom work is very important, and I have a strong relationship with my teachers to achieve the best grades possible. I have learned thru sports to set goals, to prioritize my time, and most importantly the value my education has to achieve my goals and dreams. For me working hard on the field carries thru to working hard in the classroom.
One of my aspirations is to explore how my athletic experiences and accomplishments would allow me to pursue a college degree. Right now I am interested in potentially studying Math, Early Education, Animal Therapy or Coaching. For a career I would like to go into a field where I can help others overcome challenges and learn new skills. Doing some volunteering with kids makes me realize how rewarding it is to teach and help others.
