Abriana Marchetta '21 Recruiting Profile

     I aspire to play volleyball in college at the highest level at which I am capable.  My goal is to attend a college with a strong academic reputation where I can study medicine.  I am seen as a leader both on and off the court and enjoy working as part of a team.

    As a setter, I have either been the only or the primary setter on all of my teams.  As a sophomore I was the only setter in post-season play and led Holy Name High School to a state championship.  As a junior, I was the setter, primarily running a 5-1, and led our team to our second state tournament appearance. By the end of my junior season, I had a total of 1,582 career assists. I was also given an all-district 2 honorable mention and an all-conference 2nd team award. On my JO team this past season, I was the only setter on the team. We usually placed very high at tournaments, and placed 5th overall in OVR. I have been offered a contract for this same team this year, however, one of my previous national coaches has also approached me to consider playing up a year on her national 18U team. 

    As a student, I have taken on more challenging courses each year.  This coming year I will have two honors classes, one AP class and one CCP class.  As I have challenged myself more each year, my GPA has continued to climb and is currently a 3.8.
