Personal Statement
I am Kayla Jarosz and I am in the graduating class of 2019 at Holy Name High School in Parma Heights, Ohio. I am 5'9" with a standing reach of 7'4", a block jump of 8'7", and a jumping approach vertical of 9'1". Volleyball has made a huge impact in my life. It has helped me find out who I am and what I can become. It is, and always has been, my main sport. I have played volleyball year round for the past three years starting with school volleyball, then club volleyball, and then beach volleyball in the summer. My main position is right side hitter but my coaches have found that I can play all around as well. I take coaches criticism and advice seriously and I use it to make myself better, and my team better. Since my first year of club volleyball, I have improved each year moving to a higher level which has only challenged me more and more to become a better player mentally and physically. A few major goals of mine are to play volleyball in college and to make myself a better volleyball player any possible way I can. Not only do I work hard on the court, but off the court as well. I take my academics very seriously and I work hard to excel in school. I study hard and work as hard as I can to do the best I can. This school year, I am challenging myself and I am taking three honors classes and a college credit course. Challenging myself helps me to exceed. I am hoping to find a college with my interest of study, Zoology/Veterinary Studies. I am hoping to play beach volleyball in college but I am also open to colleges that do not offer beach volleyball. I would like to go to a Selective or Most Selective academic Christian college. From both volleyball and school, they have taught me that things do not come easy. You have to work hard to get better and improve.
