Mikayla Nelson '18 Recruiting Profile

My goals are to play for a competitive school that will allow me to pursue my future ambitions.  I am currently a starter on my high school varsity team.  I have played five seasons of Club Volleyball, and I'm in the process of starting my sixth season. My current position is setter, but I am a well rounded player on the court.  Volleyball has become my passion. I am easily teachable and a team player.  I have a positive attitude and very hard work ethic.   I recently was voted as VYPE Magazine’s Most Outstanding Volleyball Player of the Year(2017) for All of Southwest Oklahoma Region.  Our High School just finished the 2017 season as State Runner-UP in 3A. I was also selected for the All State Tournament Team. Outside of volleyball I currently have 3.8 GPA. I work very hard on my academic studies to pursue great expectations for my future.
I am active in my local Church and volunteer in the kids department, as well as, being active in the youth group.   I'm excited about this opportunity and believe volleyball teaches me and prepares me for things I will encounter in life.
