Over the past three years I have had the privilege of being a part of the OK Charge Club team UA. Over these two years I feel that my opportunities through practice and playing against the best in my age group across the nation in the open and USA divisions have improved my volleyball skills, increased my confidence in my on court abilities and made me realize that I am a leader, coachable and an athlete that has the potential to do something special on the volleyball court.
I love being active and around people. I started out involved in competitive dance, basketball, and track (district middle school high jump record). In 7th grade found a love for volleyball and since have devoted most of my time to that sport. My grandpa became an inspiration to me sending inspirational quotes, and pushing me to be better. He use to say, "Lari, keep jumping good things are coming." He is no longer with us but those words of encouragement along with parent and coaches led me to believe I am a great volleyball player and have valuable skills to use and even improve on with continuous learning.
My academic goals are first to be the best student in class everyday and continue with National Honor Society. Athletically, I want my HS team to go to State and WIN, and in club I want my team to compete at the highest level and get another bid to nationals. Once there I want to make it to the top and WIN Nationals. How great would that be. Ultimately life is about making memories and I hope to make many!
I was fortunate to be apart of the USAV High Performance A1 (2018) and A2 (2019) teams as a freshman and sophomore. Playing with other great teammates from across the country made me feel more challenged. This last year A2 Junior Select, my team "Athens" won the camp competitions. I contributed and improved my middle, outside hitting, serving, and defensive specialist skills. With my ability to jump higher than others, quick reaction time, love for volleyball and teammates, and ability to care and work harder than others, I would be a valuable asset to any team and plan to play at the college level.
