My aspirations have always been to give my all 100%. I do this not only for myself but my sister who has inspired me to become great. My sister has overcome her challenges that she lives with daily. She has taught me that not matter what challenges you may have that you can overcome those challenges and become great at whatever your heart desires. My heart desires to play volleyball and become the best that I can be. My sister will never be able to go to college, she will never be able to play sports on a team in hopes of going to college. My mom has had to go to college to learn to teach herself about my sister and in turn has helped many other children. She did this while raising my sister, my brother and I. She got her Master's degree in special education and not matter how difficult my mom's life has been she made sure that I had my opportunity to shine. She and my sister have watched, cheered and supported me in my four club volleyball years on our clubs top team. My mom found a way to financially, emotionally, and physically support me. My mom came from being dirt poor and with her parents that had little to no college experience and showed me that no matter your challenges that you can rise to greatness. My sister will need livelong care. My mom will need support as she grows older and I want the opportunity to give back to my mom what she has given to me. My mom has her own college debt and want to help to pay for my own college by gaining scholarships. At this point I do not know what my career goals are. I don't know what I want to be when I grown up. But I do know this, I love ever aspect of volleyball. I want to continue to learn and be great at my strength which is a libero. What makes me different from other candidates. I know how to push through my challenges as I have my sister as an amazing example. I never think I am the best and I always want to learn more. My character is to support the team, help everyone to achieve greatness and find there own strengths. I am a team player and never get discouraged with my teams for mistakes. When we don't do something perfect on the court, I look at it as learning not defeat. I won't disappoint my coach or teammates because I know that tomorrow is another day and tomorrow can bring greatness.
