Personal Statement
I started out playing volleyball in a recreational league in Portland, OR in 2017. I immediately fell in love with the sport and continued playing in the recreational league until my move to Pittsburgh, PA in 2019. It was at this time that I joined the school team (which was not offered to me in Portland) and later I joined a club team and started to play more competitively. I think something that separates me from other players is my work ethic both on and off the court. I am also coachable and always appreciate constructive feedback from coaches about my game. In addition to volleyball, I also plan to major in psychology in the hopes of one day becoming a psychiatrist. I enjoy helping people and I have always been fascinated with how the human mind works, which I why I feel that this field suits me well. I hope to continue my love for volleyball as well as my academic development in college
