Personal Statement
My interest in sports began when I was just in 3rd grade. I was involved in softball, CYO basketball and CYO volleyball. I continued playing basketball on my Junior High until 8th grade and continued playing CYO volleyball throughout 8th grade. I chose to continue playing volleyball moving into High School, and I also decided to join the Track and Field team as a javelin thrower.
As a student-athlete, I try every day to better myself whether on the court or in the classroom. I will do whatever it takes to make myself and my team better. Throughout my Junior year, our team has had many ups and downs. From winning the County title to losing the District semi-final game. These challenges made myself and my teammates better players all around. I feel I grew the most as a student-athlete my Sophomore year when I was chosen as a team Captain for the JV team. I had the responsibility of being a good leader and mentor to the underclassmen on my team. I learned the value of teamwork and commitment whether winning or losing we are a team.
Being a two-sport athlete has taught me the importance of balancing school, sports, and family time. I'm looking for a College that would be a good fit for me academically, as well as, athletically. I know I have the dedication and work ethic to be an asset to your team.
