Personal Statement
I have been playing sports since I was 6 years old. However, I knew from the moment I had my first volleyball practice at the age of 11 that Volleyball was the sport I was determined to play at the collegiate level.
I played as a MH and Opposite Hitter on my HS Varsity team as a freshman and sophomore. I was awarded the Coach’s Award my Sophomore year. I play Opposite Hitter on my Club Team as a 6 rotation player. I feel playing multiple positions definitely increases my knowledge of the game and certainly makes me an insightful player. I love encouraging my teammates and keeping a positive vibe on and off the court. My coaches are awesome and I will embrace every teachable moment to become the best player I can.
I am an Honors student and know the value of an education. My coaches and parents have said, and continue to say, the value of an education is priceless and I agree. I am currently interested in the field of Exercise Science or something similar.
Thank you for taking the time to read my personal statement!
Sincerely,
Shannon Culbreth
