Alyssa Stewart '19 Recruiting Profile

I played soccer and basketball from an early age, but I decided in eighth grade that I wanted to try volleyball. As soon as I stepped on that court, I knew I found my calling! I have been attending as many camps and training sessions as possible since being introduced to this amazing sport. 

As a student athlete I know that academics always come first, however that does not mean that I only try harder with school work. I give 110% on everything I do, whether is is in school, sports, or work. I thank my parents for instilling in me a deep faith and a strong work ethic. I also feel that I am a strong leader on the volleyball court. Being a Libero, I have to lead the defense to ensure our team is successful. 

But in order to be a good leader, I must also be a good follower. I feel that one of my best attributes as a volleyball player is my ability to be coached. I am always open to learning a better way to improve my game! I love getting feedback, both good and bad, this way I can continually increase my skills and become an even better volleyball player!
