Personal Statement
Volleyball has been a passion for the past five years of my life, working to compete at the highest level I can attain. My goal has always been to play volleyball in college, so from junior high to high school, club seasons, and sand seasons, I’ve worked hard to be a versatile 6-position player. Playing outside or opposite all the way around has helped me grow as a leader on the court and off, fueling and focusing my intense competitiveness into helping and pushing my teammates to be the best we can together and have a great time doing it.
I match that effort and desire in the classroom, continuing to develop a strong work ethic as I challenge myself to maintain high grades. I am interested in pursuing a career related to biology, more specifically along the lines of biopsychology, or behavioral neuroscience. So, maintaining a strong work ethic will be required to be successful in the classroom and into my career.
I strongly desire to gain the experience of playing in college. To compete at the highest levels and work hard alongside a team of women pushing toward the same goals. I feel like my competitiveness, willingness to sacrifice personal stats so my team is as strong as possible, and a desire to build strong bonds with teammates, will benefit the team I’m blessed to join. I will work to be a positive influence for my teammates, my coaches, my classmates, and my school, hoping to leave college successful with bonds for life.
