Personal Statement
My passion for the sport of volleyball began in 4th grade and has continued to grow year after year. Playing volleyball during my college education would be a dream. I would love to find a college where I could be a good fit on a very hard working, family minded team. I have a strong work ethic and a willingness to work hard to better myself. I enjoy improving my fitness level and also am very focused on maintaining healthy nutrition. My ability to work with teammates is one of my assets as a player. I am mentally tough and enjoy pushing myself to constantly improve my physical abilities.
I was awarded the District Defensive MVP as a sophomore in 2014 and a junior in 2015. I also was on the All West Texas volleyball team. I have been a member of the Varsity team for 4 years. I am also involved in Varsity Tennis and Varsity Track at my High School. I was awarded the Girls Tennis MVP in 2014, 2015, and 2016.
My faith in Jesus is a very important part of who I am. I am very involved in my church and my community. I am a part of a very active youth group and participate in missions work in my community and other places in the state. I was blessed to have been able to attend an international mission trip in Germany in the summer of 2016. I have also worked as a counselor at a Christian preteen camp in Brownwood,TX during the summer. I strive to always be a positive leader on and off the court. It is important to me to be a role model to the younger students at my school who may look up to me. I use my lunch period 3 days a week to spend time reading or working on homework with the elementary students at my school.
My ability to work hard, be a team player, and show positive character would make me a great fit for any program. I love the game of Volleyball and would like to continue playing as a work toward my college degree and career goals.
