Personal Statement
My parents encouraged me to play sports as soon as I could walk. Naturally, I gravitated to volleyball, and I loved it at first dig. So I pushed myself to improve until I reached my goal: Nationals. At my first year at Nationals, as captain, I led my team to twelfth place in the USA division, and hope to improve beyond that next season. I attribute this to my dedication on and off the court- I am routinely called “too competitive” during practices and scrimmages. I personally prefer “caring too much.” I will always be the one pushing hardest for myself and especially my team. My competitiveness doesn’t slow in the classroom, either: I have a 4.35/4.5 GPA while taking as many Pre-AP classes as possible. I am just as passionate about academics as I am about volleyball, and hope to attend a college that feels the same.
