Personal Statement
Hi, I am Danica Bagayna. I am from Dallas, Texas, and I attend Ursuline Academy of Dallas. I have been passionate about volleyball since sixth grade. I gave up playing other sports like basketball and soccer, two sports which I really enjoyed, because of my dedication to volleyball. I have put time, money, and effort into this sport. Well, my parents were the ones with the money, but it's the thought that counts. I have dreamed of playing college volleyball since entering into high school. So what makes me a good candidate for your team? Well, I am accountable. You can trust me in stressful times where the game is on the line. I pride myself in how I handle the pressure and nerves when it comes to game points for the other side. I stay calm and collected and focus on doing my job. I, personally, think I have a good energy when on the court. I am a supportive teammate, and I try to stay as positive as I can, especially when I make a mistake. I may not be the tallest on the court, but I can jump pretty high and put up a pretty good block on the net. I have been told that I am coachable, meaning that I will listen and apply the skills that my coaches teach me. I am smart on the court. I know where to place the ball if I need to tip or roll shot, and I always want to better myself. I am willing to do what I have to do in order to become a better athlete. Academically, I hold myself up to a very high standard. Academics are very important to me and especially, maintaining good grades. I make time for studying and doing my homework on top of volleyball and other activities. Anyway, I hope you're interested in me and check out more of my profile! Thank you!
