Personal Statement
My name is Trinity (Trin) Vinzant. I am 17 years old and will be playing for 18 Instinct top team under Coach Cilene Drewnick. I finished up my 2020 school season with my second state championship. I was on the State All Tournament team, District MVP, and team MVP. Before moving clubs, 2018 season with TAV 15 black we won the USA volleyball Open National Championship. My strongest positions are outside and backrow. At TAV, I played primarily right side & was mentioned many times in prep volleyball for my hitting & my ability to play pin, middle, & backrow when needed.
2018 was an amazing year. Not only did my team, TAV 15 black, win the USAV Open National Championship, but my school team, Decatur High School won my first UIL State Championship where I was named to the All tournament team. That school season earned me Offensive MVP,1st Team All District, K-Mac All State, Texas Association of Volleyball Coaches All State. Last year, I was District 8 server of the year, 1st team All District, & AVCA Phenom.
As a child athlete playing select basketball, I was recruited for a local volleyball team. At age 9, I knew nothing about the sport, but soon developed a passion for volleyball. I entered club volleyball at 10 years old. I have been blessed to always play on top club teams & have been instructed by quality coaches.
As an eighth grader at my private school, I made the varsity team where we earned a state championship & I was awarded All State MVP. I then transferred to Decatur High School as a freshman where I made the varsity team playing outside. I am now a 6 rotation outside for my varsity team. I had the most kills of my team and was second in digs to our Libero.
When I am not on the court, I enjoy coaching youth volleyball and basketball. I developed a youth program called Character Counts stressing the importance of wise choices and leadership. I will be travelling to our middle school with this program starting in the spring. Before Christmas break 2 years ago, I organized a blanket drive at my High School "Blanket Blessings". Students donate new or lightly used blankets for the needy in our community. I am also active in Fellowship of Christian Athletes, special ed aide & enjoy spending time with friends and family.
Playing at a high University level has been a goal of mine for a while. I seek to do my part to achieve this goal. Thank you for taking the time to look at my page.
