Katherine Eddlema...Personal Statement
My dream since the 8th grade has always been to go to a highly academic school in the Northeast, play volleyball there, and after graduation live in New York City. I am passionate about the environment and conservation, and will be seeking a degree in environmental science or engineering. I also love animals - I volunteer for pet adoptions, and am a supporter of the Humane Society.
I give 100% in everything I do. Not only in academics and volleyball, but also my personal health and fitness. I have been a vegetarian for two years, I have been on a completely clean diet for over 18 months, and I work out almost daily.
I have always been recognized for my hard work and focus by teachers, coaches and peers. I have a reserved and quiet personality, which people mistake for being passive, but I am very ambitious and goal oriented. This has been a good combination - I am driven, but I am also respectful and openly accept feedback and guidance from coaches and teachers. I consistently receive praise from both, not only for my performance, but for my work ethic, dedication and amenable attitude.
