Personal Statement
Being selected as Captain of our volleyball club team is one achievement that I plan to carry over into my college years . Captains not only have to hold the skills of the game, but more importantly to be a role model to the team on how to carry yourself, be a leader, motivator, have strong work ethic and have a positive attitude. Influences on my life that helped me achieve where I am are my past rec coach Susan Hammonds, my past middle school coaches, my club coaches and my parents. They each have helped mold who I am today.
Playing volleyball since I was about 6.5 years old, I have always had a passion and love for the game, no matter the outcome. My dad always has told me there is no winning and losing, there is winning and learning. My goal in high school is to grow to be a better student, a better athlete and maintain high grades, for the overall goal and dream of mine to play for a college or university while working towards a degree in medicine. I have a passion to help others and have been a member of our school’s Hope Squad since my 6th grade year. Hope Squad is a student peer nominated group, that classmates can trust to talk to, in effort to prevent teen suicide.
