I am very grateful to have been able to play club volleyball at the national level and currently on my high school's varsity team. I know how much my parents sacrificed financially so I could develop my skills and play the sport I am passionate about. My goal is to give back to them either through a sports scholarship or an academic scholarship. I am extremely competitive and hate to lose; I always give 110% no matter what court I'm on: practice or game. I have learned that competing with a teammate for playing time drives me to become a better player. At the same time, supporting that teammate and encouraging her to be successful only makes my team that much stronger.
Up until last year, I have been a six-rotation outside hitter for my club team. This year I am looking forward to being Libero/DS at Houston Skyline Juniors. I believe my experience as an outside hitter makes me a better defensive player because it helps me anticipate what my opponent will do under certain circumstances. I still enjoy playing OH/DS for my high school varsity team and feel lucky that I get the best of both worlds!
When I'm not playing indoor volleyball, I am playing beach volleyball, studying, babysitting or spending time with my parents and friends.
