Personal Statement
In fourth grade I began playing volleyball in my free time for some fun with my friends. Seven years later, here I am still playing the same sport, but now with an ever-growing passion and love for the game each time I step onto the court. In a world filled with chaos, volleyball is my only constant. Whatever is happening at school or at home, once I start playing everything else fades away, and the only thing I need to focus on is the next point.
I am a team leader and I do my best to lead by example. I am a supportive and encouraging teammate, and I am always there for a player in need. I am very coachable and an attentive listener. Although I am extremely competitive, I play with integrity, and when I make a mistake I don't point fingers or make excuses. I am dedicated and will give my all one hundred percent of the time.
I have strived to maintain quality grades in my classes, and my goal is to play at a university with the best blend of high level volleyball and academic excellence. I believe that volleyball is about much more than just skill and athleticism, but it also instills in players teamwork, accountability, determination, and perseverance, all of which are necessary aspects of life. I know that playing volleyball at the collegiate level will require tireless hard work and dedication, and I am fully prepared to meet the challenge of playing at the next level.
