Kailey Currington '18 Recruiting Profile

Volleyball is my passion! I am a 5’10” 6 Rotation Hitter from Kemp, TX. Currently I am a junior attending Mabank High School with a GPA of 3.75 and I am currently 46/235 in my class. My freshman year, my playing time was split between the Junior Varsity and the Varsity team. My sophomore year, I served as captain on the Varsity as an outside hitter and defense, where I was awarded All District first team,  received All State honorable mention, and Henderson County newcomer of the year.  My Junior year, I  returned to the Varsity team again as captain playing outside and defense. I received All District Offensive Player of the year; All State honorable mention and Henderson County Player of the Year.  My Senior year, I returned to the Varsity team again as captain playing as a 6 rotation hitter.  I received All District first team,  All District academic first team,  All State second team and Henderson County Player of the Year once again.  The past four years I have played club volleyball as an outside, right side and this season I am currently playing as a 6 rotation hitter.   

Even though I am from a small town, I am open to all school sizes.   Ideally, I would like a school with a “college town” atmosphere where I can continue my passion on the volleyball court while receiving a quality education. My end goal is to be in the medical field, but I would be happy to get my bachelor’s degree at a school that allowed me to play four years and then move on to medical school. I am not opposed to out of state schools if the benefits outweigh the distance.
