Personal Statement
In July of 2018, my family and I moved to Texas from Alabama to be closer to family. I was a starter on the Nocona High School varsity team for the past two years. I was named the Division 8-3A Newcomer of the year, and was named to the All-Academic team in 2018, and MVP Server and All-Academic for the 2019 season that has just ended. I also was named Player of the Week by the Wichita Falls Times Record News following our last game of the season. I had 20 kills, 2 block kills, 8 digs, and an ace in that game.
Through my years of playing, I have developed a high court IQ. I was made team captain of my last Alabama club team midway through the season. Our team finished strong, placing 9th in our division at the National AAU tournament in Orlando last June. I work to lead the team by example, and take pride in all the team members' accomplishments.
I am also a hard worker academically. I have a high GPA and I am driven to perform in this area. I made all A's my entire Junior year, and I was awarded two academic scholarships for my dual enrollment classes. I am a member of Mu Alpha Theta math honor society and the National Honor Society Nocona High School chapter, and am a member of the Spanish Honor Society. I have volunteered extensively through coaching younger volleyball players, and with my church and through Interact, a service organization.
I am driven to find a college that will be a fit for me academically and athletically. I am flexible as to the size and division of the college, and will be open minded on the position I play. I am confident I will find the perfect fit for me!
