Alyssa Gatlin '23 Recruiting Profile

For as long as I can remember, I have been an athlete and competitor.  Although I was a track runner and basketball player,  I asked my mom (a basketball coach) for permission to try out for the middle school volleyball team.  I was hooked! I was placed on the beginner team and worked hard to learn the fundamentals and skills to succeed. I quickly advanced to the top team and was placed on the Varsity Team as a freshman. I am a six-rotation player on both my high school and club team.  In a recent Prep Dig article describing my play as a top tournament performer, it stated,  "Her versatility is anchored by a great all-around game that allows her to perform all skills with ease." Through sports, I have learned teamwork, perseverance, and time management. 

When I'm not playing volleyball, I enjoy writing music and playing the piano, ukelele, and guitar.  I hope to pursue my passion for volleyball while continuing my academic goals in the field of Business.
