Personal Statement
- Volleyball is a game that I have an ongoing passion and love for, a game that until five years ago was something that was just played in the backyard with friends and family. At that point, I would have never thought that it would be a sport that would be in my everyday life. Five years later it's a sport that I can't stop thinking about a sport that I can't stop playing a game that has changed the way that my everyday life goes. What first made me interested was the challenge that you have to not only be an individual player but a team player as well, another thing that interested me was that it was something new something that would take me years to perfect, and even then still not be perfected. Volleyball is a game that would challenge me not only as a person but as a teammate, and an athlete. I have learned that volleyball is a mental game, a game that is all about mistakes a game that has truly made me a better person teaching me how to overcome hard things. Not limiting myself to the basic skills of volleyball the basic plays but learning new plays new skills knowing that there will always be something new to learn. As high school is coming to an end I have put great thought into what I want to make as my goals for the rest of high school and then onto college. One common goal is to be the best student-athlete that I have been and will continue to be, keeping my grades up as well as my GPA. Not letting myself fall short of anything when it's within reach. Using the leadership skills and work ethic that as a gymnast, volleyball player, and a student has taught me and implementing them into the court and the classroom. Leaving my mark in every classroom and court that I step foot in to hopefully brighten someone's day, inspire someone, or simply just make someone smile. A goal that is not only for college but for life, a lesson that I will continue to learn, and what has changed the game of volleyball in my eyes.
